How the problem shows up
After starting the program, the machine is silent or hums but no water enters the drum. The cycle stops, timer doesn't run. Display shows 4E, IE, E1 (Samsung, LG, Bosch) or just no fill.
Sometimes water fills very slowly — 10–15 minutes instead of 2–3. Or the machine fills a little, stops and shows an error.
Cause 1: tap, hose and water pressure
Simplest: water tap closed or half-open. Check the tap on the wall/pipe where the inlet hose connects.
Low pressure in the line (below 0.5 bar) — the machine won't fill. Kinked inlet hose — pinched by furniture or wall.
Fix: open the tap fully, check flow from the hose (disconnect from machine), straighten kinks. If no pressure — it's plumbing, not the machine.
Cause 2: inlet valve mesh filter
