AC Leaking Water — Causes and What to Do

In cooling mode the evaporator condenses moisture from the air. Normally it flows into the drip pan and out through the drain hose.

If the drain is blocked, the pan overflows — water runs over the casing onto the floor or wall. Drips when the AC is off can be leftover water in the pan.

Dust, mold and gel build up in the hose bend and pan. In dusty Tashkent summers, clogs form in 1–2 seasons without cleaning.

Signs: constant dripping while running, sometimes odor.

The indoor unit should tilt slightly toward the drain outlet. Level mounting or a hose running uphill traps water.
